Authorities search for man who shot at L.A. County deputies
Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials were searching for a man Wednesday night who they said fired on deputies near a Santa Clarita Valley apartment complex.
No deputies were wounded in the shooting, which was reported near the intersection of Sarabande Lane and Dolan Way in Canyon Country.
It was not known if the suspect was hit, and deputies set up a wide containment area to try to ensnare the armed man, 28, who was last seen wearing gray shorts and a black shirt, according to officials with the Santa Clarita station.
The incident was the second deputy-involved shooting reported Wednesday. Earlier, in an unrelated incident, deputies in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles were involved in a shooting near the intersection of East 109th Street and Wilmington Avenue.
No deputies were injured and no suspects were reported wounded in the incident, which is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau.
The Los Angeles Police Department also reported two officer-involved shootings Wednesday, one in downtown Los Angeles and another in the West Adams area.
