Letters: Leave scouting alone
Re “Scout archive shows pattern of abuse,” Oct. 17
My son has been a member of the Boy Scouts of America since 2001; the organization provides one of the finest experiences available to our male youth. Scouts are protected by two-deep adult leader requirements that prevent one-on-one adult contact with a scout.
The episodes of questionable conduct you report that happened before 1991 are old news, and I’m quite certain they are not unique to the Boy Scouts. So give it a rest and stop acting as if this is breaking news.
