Sewer work closes lanes on Third and Mermaid streets
Only one lane of Third Street is open to traffic at certain times as crews replace aging and deteriorated sewer lines in areas east of downtown Laguna Beach.
The uphill lane will open to cars at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and remain open all day Saturdays and Sundays, according to a news release. Both lanes were closed to cars the last few weeks.
The downhill lane on Third Street, and the westbound lane on Mermaid Street between Second and Glenneyre streets, will be closed through March. Work began in October and will wrap up this spring.
