Dodgers fall to Rockies, 3-1, in final game before All-Star break

Although they earned a split in the four-game series with the Colorado Rockies, the Dodgers might have a few concerns about their offense heading into the All-Star break.

Colorado starter Jhoulys Chacin combined with three relievers to keep the Dodgers’ bats relatively silent in the Rockies’ 3-1 win Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.

That performance capped a quiet weekend for the Dodgers’ lineup, which scored only two runs combined in the last three games, after beating Colorado, 6-1, Thursday.

For the second consecutive day, neither Yasiel Puig nor Carl Crawford was in the starting lineup. Puig entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning and ended up going one for three, scoring the team’s only run.

Crawford entered the game in the ninth as part of a double switch; he and Puig made the final two outs.

Michael Cuddyer provided the offense for the Rockies with an RBI single in the first and a two-run home run in the fifth. All the runs were charged to Ricky Nolasco, who took the loss in his second start as a Dodger.
