Lakers’ week in review

The Lakers open training camp training camp in a week, after a relatively quiet September.

The team officially chose not to stretch out the contract of 40-year old Steve Nash, and Coach Byron Scott announced his staff, including Mark Madsen, Paul Pressey and Jim Eyen.

The Lakers were briefly linked to free-agent center Ryan Hollins, but the former UCLA Bruin signed with the Sacramento Kings.

A number of former Lakers have signed on with other teams, including Earl Clark with the Memphis Grizzlies. Darius Morris is hoping to latch on with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Former all-star Tracy McGrady may be mulling a comeback. He reportedly worked out with Kobe Bryant. Meanwhile, Bryant has been linked to the potential sale of Italian soccer club Bologna FC 1909.

New Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin pretended to be his wax likeness at Madame Tussauds, pranking guests at the attraction in San Francisco.

Ex-Laker Dwight Howard had his driver’s license suspended after multiple citations in Florida.

The D-Fenders announced their 2014-15 D-League schedule. The Lakers saw the NBA change the time of their Jan. 19 visit to the Phoenix Suns.

Robert Horry took a look back at the Lakers’ championship era with Shaquille O’Neal, calling the 2000-1 season the best of the three-peat run.
