Xavier Henry expected back by training camp from knee, wrist surgeries
Xavier Henry underwent successful knee and wrist surgeries Friday, according to the Lakers.
Henry was originally injured Dec. 29 in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, suffering a bruised right knee that resulted in a cartilage abnormality.
After a lengthy rehabilitation, Henry was able to return on March 3, but a few weeks later, he tore a ligament in his left wrist in a loss to the Washington Wizards.
Henry’s knee surgery was performed by Dr. Stephen J. Lombardo; his wrist was repaired by Dr. Steven Shin -- both at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
The 6-foot-6 Henry was originally signed over the summer on a $916,099 non-guaranteed contract. Through 43 appearances, Henry averaged 10 points on 41.7% shooting from the field.
He’ll be an unrestricted free agent this summer but has previously indicated he would like to return next season.
Henry is expected to be ready for training camp after the two surgeries.
