USC coaches will hit the recruiting trail for the next few days
With an open date this week and no practice on Thursday and Friday, USC’s coaching staff will hit the road for recruiting.
“We’re gone,” Coach Steve Sarkisian said after Wednesday’s workout. “We’re basically leaving right now.”
Sarkisian said staff members would be deployed locally and out of state.
USC has signed four players in the class of 2016 to financial-aid agreements, including linebacker Daelin Hayes, offensive lineman Nathan Smith, defensive back C.J. Pollard and receiver Michael Pittman.
The signing of Pittman, 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, of Westlake Village Oaks Christian, was announced Tuesday night.
“When you have big, physical wide receivers on the outside not only catching the ball but blocking, they’re a real presence for us,” Sarkisian said. “And I think he’s going to provide that kind of same mold of the position that we’re looking for.”
