‘Biggest Loser’ creator lists Britney Spears’ former home for sale in Calabasas
Television producer David Broome of “The Biggest Loser” fame is ready to shed some square footage in Calabasas, listing his home in a gated community for sale at $9.499 million.
The European-inspired house, once famously known as Britney Spears’ rental, is reached by a tree-lined drive that ends at a circular motorcourt.
Inside, nearly 10,600 square feet of living space features hardwood floors, vast open spaces and vaulted and beamed ceilings. The master suite has a boutique-inspired dressing room, a dry sauna and a steam shower. There are six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Other living areas include a great room and a formal dining room that are divided by a two-way stone fireplace. A two-story library tower holds an office, a wet bar and a fireplace, and a climate-controlled wine cellar also has a humidor. Paneled walls and tiered seating highlight the home theater.
An elevator detailed in mosaic stone and custom millwork services each level, as do a pair of sweeping staircases.
Arched French doors off the formal areas open to an inner courtyard with a limestone fountain and fireplace. Various patios, rose gardens, a pool house and a glass-bottomed mosaic swimming pool fill out grounds of more than an acre.
The garage has been outfitted with an auto lift for subterranean storage.
Broome bought the house four years ago for $5.4 million, records show.
Isadora and Tomer Fridman, Dana Olmes and Jeff Biebuyck of Ewing & Assoc. Sotheby’s International Realty are the co-listing agents with Bjorn Farrugia and Alphonso Lascano of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate.
Broome has served as an executive producer on the weight-loss competition series since it debuted on NBC in 2004. His other credits include “Shedding for the Wedding” and “Ultimate Beastmaster.”
