Two men killed in South L.A. shooting
Two men were killed in a shooting in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning, police said.
The victims were found near 51st and Figueroa streets around 5 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Cleon Joseph. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the slain men was found in the driver’s seat of a car parked in the middle of the street, and the other victim was a few feet away near another car, KTLA reported. The area was shut down for several hours as police questioned possible witnesses.
It appeared that there had been some sort of traffic collision, Joseph said. It was unclear whether the incident was gang-related, he said.
The LAPD 77th Street Division is investigating, and police believe there may have been more than one gunman involved, according to KTLA.
