Juan Uribe just missed a cycle and drove in seven runs against his former team, and the Dodgers routed the San Francisco Giants, 10-2, in the series opener between the two rivals Friday night at AT&T Park.

It was the 11th win in 13 games for the Dodgers.

Uribe doubled home two runs in the second inning, tripled home three as part of the Dodgers’ six-run third, and hit a two-run homer in the seventh. He came up in the ninth needing a single for the cycle, but struck out swinging.

BOX SCORE: Dodgers vs. Giants

Uribe played with the Giants in 2009 and 2010. His seven RBIs tied a career-high.

The Giants opened the scoring with a run off of Hyun-Jin Ryu in the bottom of the first, but the Uribe answered in the ensuing frame with his first two RBIs. The Dodgers broke the game open in the third, when they chased Giants starter Matt Cain and built an 8-1 lead.

Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp started the game, but exited early after injuring his left shoulder on a swing during his first at-bat.

After swinging and missing at a pitch during his second-inning plate appearance, Kemp grimaced, dropped his bat, and immediately reached for his left shoulder. He finished the at-bat and the inning, but was then replaced by Carl Crawford, who took over in left field while Andre Ethier shifted to center.

Kemp was examined by Dr. Ken Akizuki from the Giants, and upon consultation with Dodgers physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache, he was diagnosed with an irritated AC joint. The discomfort was not in the area of Kemp’s previous surgery on the same shoulder.

Kemp is listed as day-to-day.
